Ingredients

Dry

  • 2 Tbsp Nutritional yeast
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 tsp Kala namak (black salt) (gives an 'eggy' flavor)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper

Other

  • 16 oz Vegan pizza dough (store-bought or homemade, room temperature)
  • 0.5 cup Vegan breakfast sausage (crumbled)
  • 0.5 cup Cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • 1 cup Baby spinach (roughly chopped)
  • 1 cup Vegan cheddar cheese shreds

Wet

  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil (divided)
  • 0.5 cup Vegan cream cheese (softened)
  • 14 oz Firm tofu (drained and crumbled)

Method

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  2. 2. In a medium bowl, combine the crumbled tofu with the nutritional yeast, turmeric, kala namak, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until the tofu is evenly coated and yellow.
  3. 3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the seasoned tofu and crumbled vegan sausage. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. 4. On a lightly floured surface or a piece of parchment paper, stretch and roll out the vegan pizza dough to your desired thickness (about 12 inches in diameter).
  5. 5. Spread the softened vegan cream cheese evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  6. 6. Layer the chopped spinach, tofu scramble and sausage mixture, and halved cherry tomatoes evenly over the cream cheese base.
  7. 7. Sprinkle the vegan cheddar cheese shreds over the top of the pizza. Brush the exposed edges of the crust with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  8. 8. Transfer the pizza to the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the vegan cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. 9. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.

Chef's notes

For a crispier crust, you can pre-bake the rolled-out dough for 5 minutes before adding any toppings. If you don't have kala namak (black salt), you can substitute it with regular sea salt, though you will lose the distinct 'egg' flavor.
